The Bring Your Own Phone path accepts most unlocked handsets and many devices from AT&T or T-Mobile, activates with a SIM or eSIM, and lets you port your existing number. Customers who bring a device qualify for what the brand markets as StraightSAVINGS pricing, and there is a $50 phone credit after 12 months of continuous active service for BYOP lines, redeemed through the rewards program.

Setting a plan to Auto-Refill, which authorizes automatic monthly charging to keep service active, takes $10 off the monthly price for existing customers with an active line. On the popular unlimited plans that is a standing discount every month, not a one-time promo, so it is one of the few savings here that compounds automatically.

Separately, Straight Talk Rewards is a free points program: you earn points on refills and account activity and redeem them toward discounts on a future phone or plan. The $50 BYOP loyalty credit is redeemed through the same rewards account.

Buying several months of service at once through the multi-month bundles generally lowers the effective monthly rate versus paying month to month, which suits anyone confident they will stay. Add-ons such as extra high-speed data or international calling are purchased separately on top of a base plan, so it is worth matching the base plan to your actual usage rather than over-buying data and layering on extras you do not need. International long-distance is built into some plans and sold a la carte on others.
