The tracking piece is underrated: because Pro Xtra logs purchases to your account, you can look up an old order and return it long after the receipt is gone — useful on a project where you deliberately over-buy lumber or tile and return the excess.

Home Depot offers a 10% discount to active-duty military, veterans, and reservists, verified once through their account. As of 2026 it is capped at $400 in savings per calendar year (roughly $4,000 in qualifying spend), and the cap resets each January 1. It is limited to personal, non-business purchases and does not combine with other promotions, so on a heavily discounted item the running sale price may already beat what the 10% would take off.

Home Depot posts a rotating Special Buy of the Day — usually tools, hardware, or home goods marked roughly 20–40% off — that changes on a daily reset around 3 AM Eastern. Appliances follow a different clock and a stricter return rule: major appliances usually have only a 48-hour return window from delivery, versus the 90 days most general merchandise gets. Knowing which clock applies before you buy avoids an expensive surprise.
